  It has been too long since we have heard GTA-raised and Vancouver-transplant Ray Black on a solo track. As of Saturday, July 24 2010 that long wait will finally be over as he releases his latest mixtape to the public, “Fresh Air”.
  
  Made available for free download via rayblack.bandcamp.com , it includes 16-tracks of unfiltered, unapologetic Hip Hop. The tracks not only show his range and ability to create complete songs, but they boast improved wordplay and an uncanny ability to provoke thoughts in his listeners.
  
  Before you quickly label Ray as any particular brand of rapper, be sure to check out the song "Mind Shift" to assure yourself there’s no box you can put this MC into. Or listen to "Elevator" for his ability to build a track from concept to story to lyrics. Or No Worries for an undeniably good song from a MUSIC stand-point, not just Hip Hop. There are many number of tracks on “Fresh Air” that will satisfy a wide range of Hip Hop fans and many on there for anyone who enjoys good music in general.
  
  Boldly referencing the classic “A Tribe Called Quest – Electric Relaxation” to what he presents to you, he doesn’t fall very short of the legendary group’s ability to raise your spirits and energize everyone listening.
  
  Recorded on the West Coast in March of this year, it takes listeners on a journey through Ray’s experiences and thoughts from the past year. While many in Hip Hop would reach out to any big name they could get a hold of, Ray instead elected to keep his features familiar. Sticking to the people he knew would create the sound he wanted, instead of the buzz he wanted, resulted in some of the best music released by Ray Black to date.
